Mimi is here!!!!!!!

Yay!!! My Mom has made it safely!  It was so refreshing to see a familiar face, especially my Momma's! :)  We hit the ground running and after she arrived we drove an hour a half home and got ready to go to horse riding.  After that we took her to our favorite ice cream place and had her try some crepe and ice cream- she loved it!  We watched a movie (Bridesmaids- CLASSIC and she's never seen it!) so that was fun!  Sunday we took her to a Wildpark and then out for a German din din!  After dinner we took her shopping and showed her a little around the town!!

Kusel village- this is the village of the county we are in

So funny story about this pizza bread- Adelle ordered a salad and the waitress kept trying to ask us something (in German) and she repeated it like five times and we finally thought we understood and that she had asked if we wanted bread with the salad- well turns out we ordered an entire pizza bread haha but oh well it was really good.  We have had a lot of these experiences but it's really helping us learn!

Classic German dish- rump steak, potatoes with yogurt dressing and some great sauce for the steak- definitely be eating here again!!

Festival at the lake

In the village we live in, Gries, there is an annual festival.  This year it was the weekend of Nate's Birthday so we spent the weekend down at the lake to celebrate his Birthday.  It was a ton of fun and there were a lot of people there. We got to try some of the different kinds of local beers as well as some local wine.  They even had a couple carnival rides and four different areas where different types of bands played.  The German food we tried was AMAZING!  We hope next year some of our friends or family will join us for the festival because it really was a good time.

This is a baumstriezel- it's was awesome. You can dip the hot pretzel dough in a bunch of different toppings, but we of course chose cinnamon sugar :)- can't go wrong with that combo

Adelle's new favorite beer! It's the local beer Bitburger with lemon flavoring

Siena was dancing with her blanket to the bands
