Our House in Germany

Well we can't take it anymore and want to share a couple pictures of our new house here in Germany.  :) We got the keys yesterday and will be moving in officially on July 1st!  Also, I found out today that our household goods are in country and currently going through customs.  We are hoping they can deliver them ASAP!  We also hope that getting all our stuff from home will make us feel like we are finally settled.  However, this will never truly feel like home without our family and friends.  We miss you all dearly!  Stay safe and healthy!  Love you!

These are the views from the back patio.  It's kind of hard to see in the pictures but there are a lot of hills and forests in our view :)

More pictures of inside the home to follow when we get our stuff in there. :)

Saarbrucken day of fun!

Saturday we decided to drive to a big city called Saarbrucken about 45 minutes from where we live. We started the day by going to the Saarbrucken zoo. The zoo was awesome (a lot better than the first one we went to). It had lots to see, it was nice and spread out, and the enclosures were large. We got quite the work out because the zoo is built into a side of a large hill so lots of the day involved trekking up steep hills.

Here are some pics

Siena guiding the way with the map
A Flamingo pic for Big Mama
Peacock all spread out
Hali pretending to be a monkey

The gorillas were really neat

Siena got to pet her first donkey- she thought that was pretty cool!
Nate and Hali with a nice Ass!

Hali on the big wiggly bridge... Siena couldn't figure out which way to get across :)

She always wants to hold Hal's hand
Sisters <3

Hali went inside the goat barn to pet all the goats
Loving life!
Neat old castle door
Hali's favorite part was the penguins- she could have sat and watched them play all day
Blue and orange turtle- Go Bears!!

So if anyone wants to go to the zoo when they come- this is the one we will definitely go to.  :)

The rest of Saarbrucken is awesome too, so after the zoo we went to Europa Gallerie, which is a really large shopping mall.  There is also a lot of shopping on the streets too, but we only had enough time to do the mall.  We are going to head back to Saarbrucken again soon and explore the rest of the city.  We also saw a pedal bar on wheels so we definitely want to do that sometime.

Friday night was Mommy and Hali night so here are some pics from that night.  Adelle and Hali went to see Maleficent, went to a bookstore, and then got a smoothie at Cinnabon.  It was a lot of fun!

Goofy!!

Love and miss all..

Zoo, DinoPark, and German Food!

The Zoo!

Saturday morning we got up and went to the Kaiserslautern Zoo.  It's a fairly small zoo, but it was still a lot of fun for the girls.  Sometime in the next few weeks we are going to drive to Frankfurt and take the girls to the zoo and aquarium there.  But here are some pictures of the Ktown Zoo.

DinoPark!

Since Father's Day was on Sunday, we wanted to try to find something fun to do for Nathan.  Our neighbor had talked to us about a town called Bad Durkheim, which is where there are a lot of vineyards and some great wine.  So when we got up we headed towards the town which is about an hour drive.  We were less than a few km away (about 2 miles) and found out the road to get to the village was closed.  So we parked our car and asked a man if there was anyway around the road construction.  He basically told us we could either walk the rest of the way or turn around and head back to the autobahn and go a different way, which the detour took us all the way back to Kaiserslautern and then we would have to start over.  So to make a long story short, by the time we got back to Kaiserslautern we decided to just find a place to eat downtown since we had been driving around for almost 2 hours already.  So we went to a diner and had brunch.  After we ate we had remembered Brandon telling us about a DinoPark in the area so we decided to look that up and we ended up only being a few minutes away from there.  So we went there the rest of the day and had a BLAST!   We will definitely be taking a lot of trips to the DinoPark this summer.  All four of us had a great time and Nate ended up having a fun Father's Day.  Here are the pictures from the DinoPark.

This is a map that shows how big the park is!

The dinosaurs were really cool, but the views in the park were amazing.  You can climb up through the forest area.
Beautiful flowered areas.
Hali reading the dino signs...
Siena has to do everything her big sissy does :)
There was a part of a castle up in the forest
This is the view over Ktown when we climbed up into the forest- Beautiful day!
There are a ton of playgrounds in the DinoPark.  These slides were huge!  Even bigger than the one by the lake.  Here's some pics of Nate and Hali once they got to the bottom of the big one...

German Food!!

Monday we went to a large furniture store called Mobel Martin.  It's kind of mixture between Good's, Ikea, and Crate and Barrel.   It's a really neat store and we are going to buy some of the things we need for our new home there.  But inside the store is a little German restaurant so we decided to try it.  Nathan and I got salads and on top they put these huge fried potato things that are filled with cheese.  Then they put this French yogurt dressing on it and it's amazing.  I took some pictures of it and the desserts too!  Oh and by the way- we did end up getting the house by the lake.  We haven't taken any pictures yet and the ones the owner had posted online aren't available for viewing anymore.  So we get the keys on June 27th and actually move in on July 1st.  We will post pictures as soon as we get in the house!

As Hali would try to say "Auf Wiedersehen"

Love and miss you all!
