Fall Festivals

Towards the end of September and throughout October there are a lot of fall themed festivals.  We really enjoy going to different types of festivals over the weekends because they usually have a lot of different German foods to try and some fun activities for the kids.  I'm going to combine a few different days/trips into this post, but I'll caption the pictures so you know where we were. :)  The other kids in the picture are friends of ours.  I worked with their Dad back at Rock Island and him and his family just moved here in August.  We've been spending a lot of time with them and it's been a lot of fun!

This pic was taken at a local bazaar in Ramstein.

These next few pictures are at a festival in Bad Durkheim.  We thought it was just a wine festival, but it ended up being a huge carnival for the kids, which was great!

This was at the dinosaur park in Kaiserslautern.  They made a bunch of different things out of pumpkins.
 Fun with friends!!

I'm drawing a blank on what village this festival was in- but we took the girls through the maze.  Siena didn't really stay on the path, but we had a lot of fun!

The best fall festival we went to was in Ludwigsburg.  Before we went to the festival, we took a tour through this palace above.  It was really pretty inside and they treated Hali like a little princess.  The tour guide was great and let the kids get involved in the tour and really animated the story for them so they could understand.

 Gotta love the European statues

 Hay FIGHT!

Siena loved all the pumpkin figures.

Hansel and Gretel house- they had a whole fairy tale section

Classic Siena face- she gets pretty amazed about the littlest things.  Much more animated than her big sister! Haha
