Black Forest

The weekend after Steph and Logan left, Nate's parents, brother, and a family friend came to visit us for a couple weeks.  They did a TON of traveling while they were here, but we were able to go on a trip with them over the weekend.  Our first stop- the Black Forest.  We have heard a lot of people suggest this place to visit, so we decided to make an overnight stop here on our way to Switzerland.   The Black forest covers a lot of square miles, so we chose the area of Triberg for our stay.  We are really glad we chose to do this, but wish we could have spent the whole weekend in this area.  The Black Forest is only a few hours south from where we live so we will be making it a yearly trip.  We stayed in our first Bed and Breakfast and had a fantastic experience.  The owner was amazing and the food they served was the best we've had in Germany so far.

Neat village with some cool shops.

The main reason I picked this location is because it is home to Germany's largest waterfall. :)

It was spectacular- the pics just don't do it justice.

We went shopping at a large cuckcoo clock store.  Now I want one!!  But I would turn the sound off haha, I just think they are amazing to look at.

Our friends let us borrow this backpack to carry Siena- much easier than pushing a stroller up the waterfall!
We then went to the Black Forest Museum.  It showed how people used to live back in the day.  We learned a lot about the culture and the area.

So these red balls on the hat symbolize if a woman is single.  If they have black balls, then they are married.  Kinda interesting :)

 That's right...

Opa helping SiSi get to the bridge.

Siena chased these chickens all the way back to their coop.  I don't think they were having as much fun as she was LOL

Hali's crazy when it comes to spin rides- I swear she NEVER gets dizzy.  Everyone else was falling over when they got off.

The man let Hali help put the barrel together
